Family History
· Searches of records in the public domain to locate family names and members.
· Searching through newspaper archives once dates of particular events are located to find traces.
· Locate artefacts, which your ancestor would have used in everyday life, a trade or occupation.
· Locate local photographs or drawings of a city, town or village at the time that your ancestor lived there.
· Supply you with present day photographs of localities associated with your ancestors. If you have old photographs and can let me have a photocopy I may be able to match this to a present day view.
· A photographic service as requested to suit your wishes, photographing villages, houses, graves, memorials and the like. I aim to give you a photographic record to make you feel as if you had been in the area yourself.
· Locating existing Coats of Arms and arranging copies if required.
Military History
· Direct help to trace a military career.
· Locate military fatality details from the wars.
· Research what action was happening at the time of a relation's death.
· Help with journeys of pilgrimage and discovery abroad. I have extensive personal knowledge of walking the
continental battlefields and can assist you with visiting these.
· Give you further reading references, which will cover the area you are interested in.
· Help locate military badges, equipment, memorabilia and general artefacts as required. The timing of this will often be dependant the rarity of the item requested.
Historical Research in general
· Assist authors with research for details in historical works and novels.
· Carrying out interviews of people, recording them as appropriate.
· Assist with theatrical or film productions researching or advising, on historical accuracy, in particular with regards to The Great War.
· Provide lines of networking for information.
· Provide a service to check on and or collate information which you already have. From this, advise on future lines of enquiry. Do you, for example, already have a family suitcase of documentation and artifacts, which you have not had time to explore? This may well be able to tell you much.
